My Story - Jen Howarth
Life on the Lot is based around our journey which began on our Allotment based in Wirral, UK. This began March 2020 just a week before the UK's first major lockdown for the Covid 19 crisis. For many in the UK, this time was seen as a chance to reconnect with nature and their gardens as life for a brief moment began to slow down. While we were lucky enough to have a chunk of time on our hands we began to transform our plot from an unloved and partly neglected piece of land to a productive and beautiful allotment plot.
But this didn't stop here. As my confidence grew, my passion expanded into not just growing veg but flowers too! After spending a few more years learning the art of growing cut flowers, I decided to take the leap and open the Wirral Flower Farm based within the Claremont Farm ground of Bebington.
Our journey still continues as we constantly learn and transform parts of the plot and farm each year, taking on new challenges and having new adventures in what and how we grow.
Join us on our adventures as we navigate how our allotment fits into modern day family life, our attempts to live more sustainably, reduce our carbon footprint and our build projects to help us grow!

Our workshops are fun and relaxed allowing you to learn something new or just having a wonderful experience. Come and join us on your own or with a group of freinds for a special occasion as we delight in the love of learning about flowers!
Seeds to Stems: Flower Garden Course
A hands-on course with monthly sessions that will allow you to learn everything from propegation, planting out, seed harvesting, cutting and arranging to allow you to create a beautiful garden all year round!
This is the ultimate flower club!
Hand-Tie Bouquet
Do you want to learn how to create the perfect hand-tie bouqet? Before you begin you head into the field to pick your materials, choosing the colours and shapes that you love! Then head to the workstations to have a demonstration in how to arrange your hand-ties! All ending in a beautiful creation to take home! Refreshments included!
