Life on the Lot Bio

My Story - Jen Howarth

Every flower we grow, every workshop we run, and every sale we make is planned with love and attention to detail. We want people to enjoy the process as much as the results – whether that’s picking flowers, arranging them, or using them in their own creative projects. Alongside all this, I’m quietly building something bigger: our Community Interest Company (CIC). Our vision is simple: to train and support neurodiverse people in horticulture, helping them gain hands-on skills and opening pathways to meaningful, sustainable work. I’ve built this project from scratch – no formal funding, no formal training – just determination, creativity, and a lot of love for what we do. Through the CIC, our mission will be: Offer practical horticultural training Provide mentoring and confidence-building support Create opportunities for real employment in horticulture Running Life on the Lot - Wirral Flower Farm is hands-on and personal. You’ll usually find me in the fields, planning what to sow next, nurturing blooms, or thinking about how to make our workshops and services even better. But the thing that brings me the most joy is seeing the people we work with grow alongside the flowers – gaining skills, confidence, and a sense of purpose. This is my mission: to grow a business that nurtures both flowers and people, where creativity, community, and opportunity flourish together.

Hi, I’m Jen. Welcome to Life on the Lot - Wirral Flower Farm – a place where flowers, creativity, and careful planning come together. Right now, our offers a few different ways to share our love of flowers:

  • Pick & Arrange Workshops: Visitors come and pick their own flowers, then create beautiful arrangements to take home.

  • PYO Flowers: Our seasonal blooms are grown with care and available for you to pick yourself.

  • Sweet Pea Seeds & Seasonal Sales: Each year we collect and sell seeds, with all proceeds reinvested into the farm to support future projects.

  • DIY Weddings: For couples who want to get hands-on with their big day, we provide flowers, guidance, and workshops to help them craft their own arrangements.

  • Wholesale Florist Sales (2026): Supplying carefully grown blooms to florists, helping other businesses create beautiful floral displays.
